Overview

Each potential player needs to be evaluated by our professional coaches and registered prior to tryouts. Registering will guarantee your child a spot in our evaluations but does NOT guarantee any player a spot on a travel team roster. Please note that not all players will be selected for the competitive travel teams based upon their age appropriate skill level, knowledge of the game, and ability to participate and contribute positively to the team. Roster spots are not assigned based upon specific coaches or teammates.

Eligibility

US Youth Soccer has shifted the cut-off dates for age groups, and players will no longer be grouped simply by birth year. You're player will automatically be assigned to the correct age group upon registering online, and they must tryout with the new age group to ensure the tryout assessments are fairly applied, regardless of what team, if any, they currently play for. This does not mean they will play in that grouping, but is necessary for tryouts. Team assignments will take many factors into account, and will be communicated 2-4 weeks after tryouts are complete.

  • U08: Born between Aug 1 2018 - Dec 31 2019
  • U09: Born between Aug 1 2017 - July 31 2018
  • U10: Born between Aug 1 2016 - July 31 2017
  • U11: Born between Aug 1 2015 - July 31 2016
  • U12: Born between Aug 1 2014 - July 31 2015
  • U13: Born between Aug 1 2013 - July 31 2014
  • U14: Born between Aug 1 2012 - July 31 2013
  • U15: Born between Aug 1 2011 - July 31 2012

Eligible players are born between August 1, 2011 and December 31st, 2019. (U15-U8)

For players born before Aug 1, 2011 (i.e. U16 and older), The league only accommodates these teams in the Spring season, so be on the lookout for more information later this fall regarding Supplemental Spring tryouts

 

Tryout Schedule

If your child is interested in the competitive TRAVEL soccer program, they must attend both of the tryouts on the designated days and times for their age group year shown below.

Tryouts will occur Rain or Shine

Where: Golden Brook School Soccer Field

If you are unable to attend tryouts on your assigned day, you must inform the WSA director of travel soccer prior to the tryout date.

All parents/guardians are expected to respect the evaluations by the trainers before and after the tryout period and to not interfere in any way during tryouts. This includes maintaining a sufficient distance during the actual tryout so our evaluators can properly assess technical skills and the player's ability to positively contribute and participate on their own and/or among their peers.
